About the program: BMgrSaver program fulfils backup and restores BorderManager Access Rules.
We recommend to use this program for the following purposes: - For backup and recovery of BorderManager Access Rules on your BorderManager server. - For moving BorderManager Access Rules from the test server to the server of your company. - For an upgrade from the previous versions of BorderManager. - Etc. Note: The program reads and restores Access Rules only for the server objects in eDirectory. So if you have rules applied to containers and want to use the program features, then you have to copy them temporarily to the server object using the clipboard in NWADMN32. For details about this operation see the book by Craig Johnson: Beginner's Guide to BorderManager 3.x (http://www.craigjconsulting.com)

Review content (the rules list) of the backup file. For this operation it is necessary to select a file in Backup files. 2. Review details of any rule in this list. For this operation you need to double click on any rule in this list. After that the program opens an additional window with the rule features. 3. Change the rules order in this list by using the buttons: Arrow Up and Arrow Down. After this operation you need to save the updated list to a file by the Save button. 4. Press the Restore button. If the operation is successful, then you'll see the message: BorderManager server has been successfully updated!. After recovery the program fulfils the Refresh Server operation (the Refresh Server button in NWAdmin). Notes for recovery operations: Since 3.9 NBM does not have News Proxy. So if your backup file keeps the rules of that old service, then NBM will ignore those rules, when you're trying to restore rules from this file.
ADDITIONAL RESTORE OPERATION FOR NBM 3.9 In NBM 3.9 version iManager controls the server by using a XML file. Therefore for the recovery operation BMgrSaver needs an additional operation for moving the restored information to this file. For this purpose the program automatically uses the Novell console utility (“utility”): fillattr.ncf So after recovery operation the program opens a dialog window, where you have to enter your password and press the OK button. In this case, BMgrSaver automatically calls this utility at your server. However you can ignore this operation and run the utility yourself. For this case, press the Cancel button of this window and run this utility on the server. The description of fillattr.ncf is listed below. The utility may not fulfill operations instantly and requires some time. So after run of this utility the program sets the delay for 30 sec. During this time all window control elements will be locked. After delay you will see a message about the ending of all operations. The program can't control this utility. For example, the program doesn't inform you if you have entered an incorrect password. Therefore after the end message you need to open iManager and check all changes there. If you will not see the changed information there, then close iManager and run the fillattr utility manually once again: fillattr
