About the program:

The DNSBLchecker program is a tool for checking hosts in DNS blacklists (or block lists) databases and Whois databases. For checking the program uses DNS and Whois queries, which sends to the servers storing those databases.

The program also includes additional tests:

- Checking websites hosted on one IP address

- Ping

- Trace route

Requirements:

For Microsoft Windows environment:

- Any Microsoft Windows environment with set up Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 (and later)
- Access to DNS service
- Access to Whois service (TCP port 43)
- Access to http://www.bing.com via Internet Explorer for the websites, hosted on one tested IP
- For Ping and Trace route tests make sure passing ICMP packets through your firewall. For details see your OS documentation
For Linux environment:

- Any SUSE Linux 32-bit environment with set up Mono 2.4 (and later). After installation of Mono make sure that the mono-winforms packet is set up on workstation
- The program is a desktop app and requires GUI: GNOME or KDE
- Firefox (any version)
- Access to DNS service
- Access to Whois service (TCP port 43)
- For Ping and Trace route tests make sure passing ICMP packets through your firewall. For details see your OS documentation
- Trace route test requires the supervisor rights
