About the program:

The program Trapper scans Common Log files of HTML proxy of Novell BorderManager (NBM) server and allows the following:

- Get detailed information about users' work in Internet for a defined (account) period.

- Enter a limit of Internet traffic for each of your user.

- Lock/unlock users access to Internet, without using NWAdmin.

- Blocking unwanted websites or domains. For this operation you have to install and configure the
Connectotel LinkWall software on the NBM server. Detailed information about this software can
be obtained from the site http://www.connectotel.com

- Get personal user information from NDS.

- Calculate user's bill for account period (billing operations).

- Save collected information to HTML files.

The program consists of three functionally independent parts:

 

Recommended scenarios of program usage:

There are four variants of using:

- Local variant. TrapEngine and TrapAdmin are established on one workstation. This schema is recommended for the small networks. The main functional links of the program are shown here:

 

- Share Access variant. TrapEngine is established on one workstation and TrapAdmin is on the several workstations of administrators. This schema is recommended for the large networks.

- Joined variant. Joins the first and the second variants. To the workstation with TrapEngine and TrapAdmin are added several workstations with TrapAdmin.

- Remote Database. This is the second variant but the Trapper database is placed on the network drive of file server (for example, NetWare, Windows 2000).
